Cosimo’s Route from SPAD to SWSE

Finding My Path at Laurentian

When I first walked into the classroom as a SPAD student, I knew I'd fit right in. I grew up surrounded by sports, but SPAD was the first time I saw how diverse the business really was. Sponsorship, marketing, analytics, ticketing, events  there were so many ways to build a career in the sports world I loved.

Those early days were a mix of excitement and pressure. SPAD isn’t just going to class, taking notes, and leaving. You’re networking on day one. You’re expected to show up, to be curious, to put in the work. That environment pushed me to grow fast.

Growing Through Experience

After starting with SWSE, I quickly learned that every role in a sports organization plays a part in the fan experience. From day one, I focused on being reliable, bringing energy, and showing that I could handle whatever was thrown my way. That mindset helped me move into a Sales Intern position before stepping into my current role as Season Membership & Ticket Operations Coordinator.

Working in ticketing and membership service has given me an appreciation for how much goes into running a successful sports property. Game days are fast-paced, and fans count on us to deliver a smooth experience so attention to detail matters. I’ve always taken pride in making sure people have a great time in our building. Seeing returning fans, season members, and families who love the Wolves and the Five reminds me daily why this work matters.

Every opportunity I took at SWSE built my confidence, sharpened my communication, and reinforced that there’s real value in showing up consistently, caring about the product, and treating every interaction with professionalism.

SPAD’s Impact Along the Way

SPAD gave me the foundation but more importantly, it gave me the reps. Presenting to industry professionals, working JMSM, collaborating on real projects you learn quickly that professionalism isn’t optional. You have to be adaptable, confident, and prepared.

More than anything, SPAD taught me the importance of relationships. Professors, classmates, alumni, everyone is part of the network. Those conversations, events, and case competitions are where you build confidence and direction.

Lessons for Future SPAD Students

If there’s one thing I’d tell current SPAD students, it’s this “start early and say yes.” Do the extra work. Volunteer. Intern. Take roles that build experience even if they don’t have a big title attached. Every opportunity is a chance to grow and prove yourself.

I’ve learned a lot in a short time about the business, about communication, and about myself. I’m grateful for every opportunity SPAD and SWSE have given me so far, and I’m just getting started.

Whether it’s ticketing, fan experience, or another corner of the sports world, I’m committed to growing, learning, and building a career that keeps me close to the game. SPAD gave me my start, SWSE gave me my shot, and every day I’m working to earn my place in this industry.
